All students should have their band instruments. Books are available through band boosters. The cost is $10.
Tuesday, September 6 will be the first day we will be using our band instruments.
All CNE Band students will be performing at the CNE Fine Arts Festival(formerly concert by the lake) on Monday, April 25. More details to follow.
The band and choir will be presenting a concert on Monday, December 8 at 6:30 PM in the High School Gym. The middle school portion of the concert will last from 6:30-7:30. Students will be expected to support the other middle performing ensembles by remaining in their seat and listening to the other middle school groups. Band and choir students will be seated on the floor. Seating for friends and family is in the bleachers. There will be an intermission after the middle school portion of the concert where middle school students will be dismissed to go home. The high school portion of the concert will start after a 15 minute intermission. You are more than welcome to stay and watch the rest of the concert.
All middle school band students should report to the high school band room at 6:00 PM. It is important to set the correct tone for the concert, therefore, the dress for the concert will be nice clothes. Boys should wear a shirt with a collar or a sweater and nice pants and nice shoes, no jeans or tennis/gym shoes. Girls should dress appropriately. There should be no hats. The concert is worth 100 points, which is the largest portion of the students quarterly grade. If you cannot attend, please contact me in advance, and an alternative assignment may be arranged. This year, we are having a bake sale during the concert. We would like you to bring individually packaged baked goods. We sell each item for 50 cents. I hope to see you all at the concert on Monday, December 8. The beginning band is working hard to prepare for our first concert. It will be at the band and choir holiday concert on December 8 at 6:30PM.
More details to come.We are currently doing a fundraiser. Money and Order forms are due on Monday, October 20. Welcome to band. Band is the class where you learn to play an instrument. The instruments that we use in beginning band are the flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone and percussion. For percussion, we use a bell kit. If you have previous experience plating an instrument, that is great! If you have no experience, that's no problem! We will be starting from the beginning for each student.
All students need to secure an instrument for class by Monday, September 15. |
